About Me

I am an Associate Professor and Program Chair of the Human Development, Culture & Learning Sciences Program in the Department of Educational Psychology.  I also have a faculty appointment in the Counseling Psychology Program. I started at the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and I currently advise several doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students.
I do research on the correlates of prejudice and discrimination, identity and acculturation, and body image among women of color. 
I teach courses on the Psychology of Race and Racism, Psychology of Women and Gender at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.  I have also taught graduate courses such as Social Psychology Seminar and Literature Review and Methods.
